The Swirl Flames Data Repository
OH-PLIF (Planar Laser Induced Flourescence)
OH Planar Laser Induced Flourescence (PLIF) measurements presented in this repository were taken at with the high speed system described here (except those taken simultaneously with CH2O-PLIF). A JDSU Q201-HD laser was used to pump a SIRAH Credo high speed dye laser, producing a 283 nm beam to excite the Q1 (6) line in the A1Σ - Χ2Π band. The laser beam was expanded into a 35 mm sheet and passed through the centreline of the burner, as indicated in the schematic below.

OH-PLIF images were collected at 5 kHz by a Photron SA1.1 high speed CMOS camera fitted with an IRO intensifier and a narrow 300-325 nm UV filter. The data presented in this repository are presented as a series of instantaneous images and one mean image. The time-averaged mean OH-PLIF image was obtained through averaging 1000 to 5000 images (0.2 to 1.0 s). OH-PLIF images were filtered with a 2-D median filter for noise reduction and corrected for laser sheet inhomogeneities.
